Autumn Beckons

Overview

Autumn Beckons is an open juried show for local artists presented by the Louisa Arts Center in Louisa, Virginia. All artwork must be original in any media and ready for display.

Key Dates

• Online registration: June 21 – September 17, 2026
• In-person submissions: September 19, 2026, 9:00–11:00 a.m.
• Artists notified: September 21, 2026
• Unselected art pickup: September 22–25, 2026, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
• Opening reception: September 25, 2026, 6:00–8:00 p.m.
• Exhibition dates: September 25 – November 13, 2026
• Art pickup: November 14, 2026, 9:00–11:00 a.m.

Eligibility

Open to all local artists. All artwork must be original in any media (no printed reproductions). Work must not have appeared in a previous show at the Louisa Arts Center. Artwork wholly generated by AI programs (DALL-E, Midjourney, etc.) will not be accepted; however, AI-assisted artwork is acceptable if the greater part of the work is the tangible, intellectual, and creative labor of the artist. AI-assisted artworks must be acknowledged to the gallery.

Fees & Entry

• $5.00 per art piece (up to 3 pieces per artist)
• Fees waived for students under 18; call (540) 967-5200 for coupon code

• In-person submissions also accepted on September 19, 2026
• In-person submissions only; no shipped artwork accepted

Submission Requirements

• Upload digital photos (JPEG or PNG, 5 MB maximum) of each artwork to the Artcall website
• Print identification tags provided by Artcall and attach to back/bottom of each piece
• All 2-D work must be professionally framed and wired for hanging on both sides of the back (no sawtooth hangers)
• 3-D work: Gallery provides pedestals
• Include artist name, title, price, and dimensions on the back tag

Artwork Requirements

• Artwork must be original in any media
• For framed glass pieces, photograph before final framing
• For 3-D work, photograph with white background
• Artwork must be for sale
• Not previously shown at the Louisa Arts Center
• No printed reproductions of paintings, drawings, or pastels (unless credit given to photographer)

Sales & Commission

If artwork is sold, the Louisa Arts Center retains a 30% commission. Artists must contact the Arts Center and remit an additional 15% of the sale price for any items purchased by an Arts Center client or referral from opening night through 30 days later.
