Aviário Studio Photography Residency 2027

Overview

Aviário Studio Photography Residency provides technical conditions, time, and space to develop ideas and try new approaches. The residency promotes connection between artists from different backgrounds and encourages the exchange of knowledge and experiences. It can be a moment of transition focused on experimentation and research, or the consolidation of a project translated into the production of a new body of work.

Eligibility

Open to artists based anywhere in the world at any stage of career (emerging, mid-career, or established). Must be over 21 years old at time of arrival. Spouses/partners allowed for full stay (non-collaborators).

Residency length

• 2 weeks - 6 months

Fees

• 2 weeks - 600 €
• 3 weeks - 900 €
• 4 weeks - 1200 €
• 5 weeks - 1500 €
• 6 weeks - 1800 €
• Materials and meals not included
• Studio Support (training or assistance) is 20€ per hour

Facilities & equipment

Private studios with access to darkroom (black and white), enlarger, cutting table, paper guillotine, UV light exposure unit, drying racks, and light table. Shared kitchen available. Housing is a private bedroom in a shared facility on campus.

Additional opportunities

Residents may donate a work of art, participate in open studio with fellow residents, give artist talks or presentations, teach in studio, lead workshops for the public or fellow residents, or lead skill shares.
