Overview

A 3-week artist-led residency on Thassos island, Greece for creative practitioners inspired by nature. The residency centers on October forage and hiking, with guidance from host Leah Heming, a nature guide, artist, and experienced creative mentor. Participants will have quiet working space, access to local foraging and ancient donkey trails, and a supportive creative community.

Open to artists, writers, musicians, botanists, and creative practitioners working within nature themes; any stage of career; based anywhere in the world.

Facilities & Support

Accommodation in private bedrooms with work desks in a shared traditional Greek mountain house. Shared kitchen, bathroom, large indoor studio with wood stove, and outdoor terraces with worktables. Host Leah Heming provides 24/7 support, weekly guided excursions and hikes, and regular group brainstorm sessions.

• Residency fee: €1,250 for 22 days/nights stay

Expectations

Weekly show-and-tell sessions of work in progress with feedback from other residents. Optional end-of-residency presentation for participants to share their work and gather final feedback.

About the Host

Leah Heming has over 10 years of experience in gallery work, 20 years in publishing and animation, and 5 years of living on Thassos. She serves as a passionate nature guide, artist, and mentor, providing creative feedback and introducing residents to the island's history, fauna, flora, and local community.
