Aviário Studio Printmaking Residency provides technical conditions, time, and space for artists to develop ideas in printmaking. The residency promotes connection and knowledge exchange between artists from different backgrounds. The duration, focus, and outcome are defined by the participating artist's goals, serving either as a moment of experimentation and research or consolidation of a new body of work.

Artists choose from: Self-directed Residency, Guided Art Residency, or Assisted Production Residency.

Book arts, drawing, graphic design, illustration, installation arts, interdisciplinary arts, mixed media, painting, paper arts, photography, printmaking, sculpture, storytelling, and visual arts. Printmaking techniques include relief, intaglio, screen printing, transfer, and monotype.

  • Shared studios and dedicated studio/shop with full-time and part-time technicians
  • Cutting table, guillotines (paper and metal), presses (Krause book binding, Polymetaal, Reig)
  • Printmaking workspaces with etching press, inking tables, drying racks, silkscreen studio, light tables, exposure unit, washout room
  • Additional equipment: darkroom, soldering workspace, woodworking tools, ceramics workspace
  • Private bedroom in shared housing facility on campus
