Cultural leaders and arts professionals are invited to apply for a 6-day residential leadership program exploring Indigenous wise practices and contemporary arts management.
Overview
Wise Practices in Arts Leadership is a 6-day residential program at Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity exploring leadership through the lens of Indigenous wise practices, right relations, deep listening, self-inquiry, and values-based leadership. Participants will reflect on their leadership values while learning alongside a peer cohort of cultural leaders and working through organizational challenges using wise practice principles.
Who Should Apply
This program is designed for arts and culture professionals working in organizations of any size across any art form, including Indigenous, Canadian, and international artists; administrators, managers and directors; policymakers; creative producers; education and engagement specialists; community-based cultural workers; and consultants.

Residency Details
- Length: 6 days
- Cohort size: 28 participants average
- Collaborative residency (must apply and be accepted individually)
- Private bedroom in shared housing facility on campus
- All meals provided
- Partially accessible (50% or more)
Fees & Funding
- Application fee: $65 CAD
- Residency fee: $3,683 CAD
- Funding of up to $2,500 CAD available; non-profits and smaller organizations encouraged to apply
