Overview

Cincinnati Art Club, the second oldest art club in the nation, invites you to enter ViewPoint 58, a national juried competition and exhibition open to fine art in all media except photography, video, crafts, fiber, AI or computer-generated art, painting on photos or prints, and jewelry. For 58 years this show has featured high quality, contemporary art.

Location & Venue

The exhibition will be hosted by ARTclectic Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio, the top-rated art gallery by Google reviews in Cincinnati.

Eligibility

This exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age and older. All artwork must be original, recent (completed since January 1, 2024), and for sale. Original means you created your own original composition and made the artwork yourself; it is not a copy and is not based on published material or another artist's work. If you used a reference photo, you took the photo and it was not generated by AI or taken by someone else. Works created in workshops or classes are not eligible. Sculptors may work with a fabricator for casting.

Media & Size Restrictions

• Excluded media: photography, video, crafts, fiber, AI or computer-generated art, painting on photos or prints, jewelry, and works created in workshops or classes
• Framed work (maximum): 48" wide by 48" high (frame included)
• Free standing sculpture (maximum): 36" × 36" × 60" high, must be stable or attached to stable base
• Wall sculpture (maximum): 48" × 48" with 15" depth limit, weight limit of 25 pounds
• All framed pieces must have wire on back ready for hanging with strong screw eyes, D-rings, or mirror hangers. Oil paintings must be dry to the touch.

Submission Requirements

• Submit 1 to 4 images (digital files) of your artwork
• Submission limit: 1 artist per entry (max 4 entries per artist)
• Prior top award winners from 2024 or 2025 may enter but are ineligible for those cash awards. Entrants eligible for one award only.

Awards

This year's top awards include 1st Place $3,000.00, 2nd Place $1,000.00, 3rd Place $750.00, plus a Special OKI Award of $500 for artists currently living in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Judge

Our final judge is the eminent Joseph Orr, nationally known award-winning artist, founder and signature member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society (NAOPS), and Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society (AIS). He is a noted art author and educator.

Gallery Representation & Commission

Invited artists will sign a short-term representational contract with ARTclectic Gallery for the duration of the show. A 40 percent commission is payable to the gallery from each sale. Price your work accordingly for exhibition at this prestigious gallery. When an artwork sells, the gallery will send the artist an IRS form W-9 to complete.
