Artists of any career stage may apply to spend 2–4 weeks at a self-directed residency in Ilhabela, Brazil, developing creative work across multidisciplinary fields.
Overview
Casa na Ilha is a self-directed residency retreat in Ilhabela, an ecological paradise on Brazil's north coast covered by Atlantic rainforest, located 200 km from São Paulo. Artists intensely dedicate to work in progress or develop new projects while enhancing creativity and inspiration through peer interaction and connection with the local community and nature.
Residency Details
- Duration: 2–4 weeks
- Group size: 2–6 artists per session from different disciplines
- Housing: Private bedroom or shared bedroom, both with ensuite bathrooms and ocean views
- Work spaces: Shared studio with individual desks, plus additional indoor and outdoor work areas
What's Included
- Daily small breakfast (coffee, tea, milk, fruits, bread)
- Weekly group dinner (vegetarian, home-made)
- Equipped kitchen for cooking lunch and other dinners
- Weekly cleaning, linen, and towel changes
- WiFi access
- Guidance available (self-directed; no required schedule)
Fees
- Shared room, ocean view with ensuite bathroom: $1,950 USD (2 weeks) / $2,210 USD (3 weeks) / $2,495 USD (4 weeks)
- Private room, ocean view with ensuite bathroom: $2,495 USD (2 weeks) / $3,290 USD (3 weeks) / $3,690 USD (4 weeks)
- Partners not participating in the program pay 50% of the private room fee

Open to artists at any stage of career, based anywhere in the world. Both individual and group applications accepted.
