Submit images of completed 2D or 3D artwork exploring and honoring Hispanic and Latino cultures, heritage, traditions, and history with concentration on Día de los Muertos for a juried exhibition.

Los Vivos y Los Muertos celebrates Hispanic and Latino culture, heritage, traditions, and the rich history of Mexico and the southwest United States with a concentration on work inspired by Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Both emerging and established artists (ages 14 and above) are invited to submit images of completed work for consideration.

Open nationwide to artists ages 14 and above. All submitted works must be the original creation of the artist. Artwork generated wholly or partially by artificial intelligence (AI) will not be accepted. All pieces must not have been previously submitted in the 2025, 2024, or 2023 Los Vivos y Los Muertos exhibitions.

All genres and styles that fit the exhibition theme will be accepted, both 2D and 3D. Eligible media includes paintings, oil, chalk, pastels, ink, drawings, photography, mixed media, ceramics, sculptures, metal work, wood work, and fiber art. Art pieces may not exceed 48 inches in any direction (including the frame) and may not exceed 20 pounds in weight. Art including nudity or highly controversial images or subject matter will not be selected; all pieces must be of PG rating.

Submit images for up to 3 artworks. Submit closely cropped photos that clearly represent the art and photos of all sides for three-dimensional work. Include the year of completion, size, media type, art statement, and a 50–80-word summary describing the inspiration and meaning of the piece.

A Best in Show prize of $1,000 will be awarded to a single piece. Ribbons will be awarded to the winner in each media category for an emerging artist and an established artist.

Local artists may drop off work Monday–Friday, September 21–October 2, 2026, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. Non-local artists' work shipped to The Center must be received by Friday, October 2, 2026. Non-local artists are responsible for shipping costs both directions and must provide a pre-paid, insured return shipping label. Local artists may pick up work Tuesday–Friday, November 3–6, 2026, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. Art not picked up by November 9, 2026 without prior approval will be considered a donation.
