Submit 3-D outdoor artworks for ArtScape 10, an annual public art installation celebrating a decade of public art in Fayetteville and Cumberland County.

ArtScape 10 celebrates a decade of public art in Fayetteville and Cumberland County. The Arts Council welcomes submissions of 3-D outdoor works and particularly encourages submissions from North Carolina artists. Artists are encouraged to explore themes of celebration, joy, and excitement through bright color, engaging form, or interactive play. Selected works will remain on display for approximately 15 months, becoming a meaningful part of the community's shared experience while reaching a broad and diverse audience.

  • Application Deadline: July 15, 2026
  • Artist Notification: August 10, 2026
  • Installation Dates: October 19–30, 2026
  • Removal Period: February 21–25, 2028

Each application must include artist contact information, artist biography, 3 high-quality images showing various angles of one existing piece, a short statement regarding the work, and a description of its installation/removal requirements and provisions for stability (including size of concrete pad/hard surface if required). Include a lease price for the exhibition period and sales price. Artists may submit up to 3 artworks maximum (1 application per artwork).

Artists should be from North Carolina (particularly encouraged). Submissions are evaluated by a panel of Arts Council Board members, staff, and community members with professional experience in arts, culture, marketing/cultural tourism, and public art. Evaluation criteria include artistic excellence, safety and durability, and compatibility with available sites. Top twenty-five submissions are recommended to the City's Public Art Commission; final approval comes from the City Manager.

Ten pieces will be selected for installation. Each selected artist receives a one-year lease of up to $3,000. Selected artists receive a travel stipend of up to $500 total to cover both installation and deinstallation per sponsored artwork. Artists receive 70% payment on any individual sale; all works sold must remain on display for the duration of the lease period.

Artists are responsible for installation and de-installation of their work(s). The Arts Council carries liability and damage insurance for the course of the exhibition. Artists retain all copyright of the artwork, and The Arts Council will credit the artist whenever possible. On-site recognition of the artist will be provided.

The Arts Council will publicize ArtScape 10 through its website, brochures, social media, and print advertising.
