About
Submit up to four pieces interpreting the theme 'Starry Summer Nights' (summer evenings, glowing skies, moonlit landscapes, memories, dreams, music, light, and movement) in any eligible medium for a members-only juried exhibition.
Overview
Starry Summer Nights celebrates the wonder, warmth, and imagination inspired by summer evenings. From glowing skies and moonlit landscapes to memories, dreams, music, and abstract expressions of light and movement, artists are invited to interpret the theme in their own unique way. Whether representational or abstract, quiet or vibrant, let your work capture the magic that comes alive after the sun goes down.
Key Dates
- Submission Deadline: Tuesday, July 28, 2026
- Drop-off: Saturday, August 1, 1–6pm or Monday, August 3, 10am–2pm
- Exhibition: August 8 – September 12, 2026
Eligibility
Must be a Blue Door Art Center member. If you are not yet a member, you can join or renew your membership ($85 per year) to participate. Membership must be current (valid for one year from the date of payment).
Media & Size
- All media accepted: Painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, fiber, mixed media, digital art, ceramics, and more
- Maximum framed artwork size: 24" × 36"
- Sculpture: no heavier than 100 lbs
Submissions
You may submit up to four (4) pieces. All work can be listed as either For Sale or Not for Sale.
Fees
- In Gallery Exhibition Hanging Fee: $25 per piece
- Online Exhibition Participation Fee: $10 per piece (total $35 for combined participation)
- Membership: $85 per year (required)
Awards & Commission
All artists are guaranteed to show at least one piece. Work marked for sale will have a 25% commission to Blue Door Art Center.
