About
Artists are invited to apply for a printmaking residency of 2-6 weeks to develop projects using relief, intaglio, screen printing, transfer, monotype, and other printmaking techniques.
Overview
Aviário Studio Printmaking Residency provides technical conditions, time, and space for artists to develop printmaking projects. The residency promotes exploration and production in printmaking, including relief, intaglio, screen printing, transfer, monotype, and other techniques. It can serve as a moment of experimentation and research, or consolidation of a project into a new body of work. Duration, focus, and outcome are defined by the artist's goals.
Residency Length & Dates
Residency duration ranges from 2 weeks to 6 months. Application deadline is October 17, 2026. Artists must specify their check-in and check-out dates when applying.
Eligibility
- Open to artists based anywhere in the world
- Any stage of career (emerging, mid-career, established)
- Must be 21 years or older at time of arrival
- Spouses/partners allowed for full stay (non-collaborators)
- Pets not allowed
- Languages: English, French, Portuguese

Equipment & Facilities
Aviário Studio offers extensive printmaking equipment and shared facilities including cutting tables, guillotines, multiple printing presses, screen printing tables, exposure units, drying racks, hot tables, light tables, and a darkroom. Private bedrooms in shared housing are provided on campus.

Funding & Support
No artist stipends or travel stipends are available. Aviário Studio does not currently offer grants, but artists are encouraged to apply for external financial support.
- Entry fee
- 2 weeks - 600 €; 3 weeks - 900 €; 4 weeks - 1200 €; 5 weeks - 1500 €; 6 weeks - 1800 €. Materials and meals not included. Studio Support (training or assistance) is 20€ per hour.
