Eligibility
Open internationally to Professional (not currently enrolled in educational institution) and Student (currently enrolled in educational institution) artists. Exhibiting artists must attend the WCIAA Conference (September 30–October 4, 2026).
Submission Requirements
Submit up to 3 images of 1–3 cast iron artworks total for the conference, labeled as Artist's last name_student_1.jpg or Artist's last name_professional_1.jpg. Images must be at least 1200 pixels in one direction and 72 dpi. Detail shots should be labeled Artist's last name_student_1_detail.jpg. Include artwork title, media, dimensions, year, weight, and hanging instructions with each submission.
Artwork Requirements
Student: Artwork should include iron as sculpture, image, photograph, print, pigment, etc. Work can incorporate additional media and should express individual personal concept and celebrate craft, process, and creative design. Professional: Two-dimensional and three-dimensional works with iron considered. The premise is to celebrate the vast range of approaches to creative expression using cast iron as a medium or muse. Works must be ready to hang; provide specific specialty hardware if needed and any install details (pedestal, wall-mounted, assembly instructions, etc.). A printed copy of hanging instructions must be shipped with the work.
