Salmagundi Club members submit up to two artworks interpreting the American experience for a juried exhibition.
Overview
As we celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary since declaring independence from King George, the Salmagundi Club asks its membership to show their personal yet resonant interpretation of the American experience. From the quiet poetry of daily life to the charged rhythms of civic expression, from enduring landscapes to shifting identities.

Eligibility
Open to Salmagundi Club artist members only. Only work not previously shown at Salmagundi will be accepted. Up to 2 artworks per artist.
Media & size requirements
- All mediums accepted
- Outside dimensions of frame may not exceed 30" in any direction
- Sculptures should be no more than 28" high and no more than 40 lbs
- All works must be professionally framed with wire for hanging
- If framing is not applicable, work needs to be professionally presentable for exhibiting in a gallery space with appropriate mounting to hang or display
- Use plexi-glass if displaying under glass to avoid breakage

Submission & acceptance
Submit through ShowSubmit by September 7, 2026. Framed images are not required for entry. You may edit your entry during the entry period through ShowSubmit, but not after the deadline. Entries not adhering to the Exhibition Requirements will be omitted. Acceptance/Rejection emails will come from ShowSubmit. If you do not receive yours by Tuesday, September 22, please login and check your ShowSubmit account notifications.
Delivery of accepted work
You may deliver accepted works in-person during receiving days (October 15–18, 10AM–5PM) or ship them to the clubhouse. All accepted works must include the hangtag PDF from your acceptance email (one tag attached to the back, one taped visibly). All packages must be labeled on the outside with the exhibition name, artist name, and work titles. If shipping, send with an expected arrival date during the noted receiving dates. You must include a prepaid return shipping label from USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Works being shipped must be in reusable shipping boxes for art. Salmagundi members receive 10% off Air Float boxes (contact [email protected] for the discount code).
Sales & pickup
The Salmagundi Club receives 30% of all sales; 70% goes to the artist. For the duration of the exhibition, the online catalog functions as an online store. 'Not for sale' works may not be listed on the website during the exhibition but will be archived after. Artwork pickup is November 27, 6PM–9PM and November 28–December 1, 10AM–5PM. Sold artworks and artworks shipped by the artist will be shipped within the following week after the exhibition ends. If you do not provide a return shipping label, your work will be returned only at your request and expense. After 30 days, uncollected works incur a $50 monthly fee. Uncollected works after 180 days are considered abandoned property.
