Artists, makers, and heritage craft practitioners are invited to submit one 2D or 3D work of visual art or craft in any style or medium for exhibition in the biennial Harley Open 2026.

Paint it, carve it, stitch it – show it at the Harley Open 2026. This biennial open exhibition invites artists, makers and heritage craft practitioners to exhibit work in the award-winning gallery. We are looking for 2D and 3D works of visual art or craft in any style or medium. For the first time in 2026, the Harley Open is accepting submissions of sculpture, craft and freestanding works, and is particularly encouraging applications from those who practice heritage or endangered craft skills.

Entries are accepted from artists, makers, and heritage craft practitioners living or working within 100 miles of the Harley Foundation (S80 3LW). Both amateur and professional artists are welcome.

  • One artwork or object per artist
  • Artwork must have been made within the last 2 years
  • 2D and 3D works in any style or medium accepted
  • Heritage craft practitioners encouraged to apply
  • Submission deadline: 19 July 2026
  • Delivery dates: 10–13 September 2026 (in person)
  • Collection dates: 7–10 January 2027
  • Entry fee: £10

The Harley Open 2026 will be judged by Bryony Bond (Director of the Harley Foundation), James Fox (art historian and author of Craftland), and Joe Hill (Director of Yorkshire Sculpture Park).

You must have a free CuratorSpace account to make a submission. Register online or log in if you already have an account. The submission fee of £10 will be payable using a debit or credit card after the first submission has been completed.
