Overview

LUSH 4: A Contemporary Ceramics Biennial features cutting-edge and innovative practices in contemporary ceramics. This juried exhibition showcases functional, sculptural, and experimental ceramic pieces and offers artists the opportunity to present their work to influential collectors in a world-class gallery in Palm Beach County, Florida. The exhibition is juried by a panel of nationally recognized ceramic artists and the curator of Lighthouse ArtCenter.

• Notification of acceptance: July 27, 2026
• Artwork delivery windows: July 27 – August 7, 2026 or August 24 – September 4, 2026
• Exhibition opens: September 10, 2026, 9:00 a.m.
• Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony: October 8, 2026, 5 – 7 p.m.
• Exhibition closes: November 14, 2026, 4 p.m.
• Unsold works shipped or picked up by: November 20, 2026

Eligibility

• Open nationally to emerging and established ceramics artists
• All work must be original and completed within the last two years
• Weight may not exceed 50 pounds
• Artwork must not have been previously displayed at Lighthouse ArtCenter in Tequesta, Florida
• 3D art must be delivered ready to install with appropriate base or hanging mechanism

Media & submission

• Submit up to 3 works (1 submission per artist)
• 1 image per work; up to 3 images total
• File format: JPEG/JPG only
• File dimensions: 1200 pixels or greater on longest side
• File size: under 5 MB
• Do not submit multiple images of the same work

For each work, provide

• Artist name
• Title
• Size (Width × Height × Depth in inches)
• Materials
• Price or NFS (Not For Sale)
• Photo credit (if photographer is not the artist)

Fees & awards

• Application fee: $45 (non-refundable; covers up to 3 unique items)
• First Place: $1,500
• Second Place: $1,000
• Third Place: $750
• Honorable Mention: $500 (two awards)

Terms & shipping

Artists are responsible for shipping and insurance of accepted works to and from the exhibition. Artwork is insured while onsite in the gallery. Accepted artists must provide a return shipping label for unsold pieces. Each label must contain artist name and contact information, title, dimensions, media, and price or NFS. Lighthouse ArtCenter will collect and remit all applicable sales tax. By submitting work, artists agree to all terms listed.

Lighthouse ArtCenter (LAC) in Tequesta, Florida, is the oldest and largest visual arts organization serving northern Palm Beach and Martin Counties. The three-building campus features two state-of-the-art galleries with 5,000 square feet of exhibition space and a School of Art with 35 faculty members and master artists.
