Apply to lead a curated series of three public performing arts programs at ISSUE Project Room during the 2027 season.

ISSUE Project Room announces the 2027 Suzanne Fiol Curatorial Fellowship, which supports an emerging New York-based curator in the organization and presentation of challenging and innovative performing arts projects during the 2027 season. The fellowship honors Suzanne Fiol (1960–2009), founder and visionary behind ISSUE's commitment to expanding the boundaries of artistic practice.

The Fellowship provides a platform and support structure for the development and presentation of a series of events across the course of a year. Curatorial Fellows are evaluated on the inventiveness, artistic strength, feasibility, and relevance of their projects to ISSUE's broader mission. Applicants should focus on articulating how the fellowship can assist the development and evolution of the curator's creative practice.

  • $3,000 stipend
  • Up to $10,000 (net) ISSUE-funded budget to produce three public programs
  • Free use of ISSUE facilities and technical support
  • Mentorship for the incubation and execution of new projects
  • Marketing and administrative support

Open to emerging, New York-based curators.

The Curatorial Fellow will be chosen by a Selection Committee comprised of ISSUE's Artistic Advisory Council members and current ISSUE curators.
