Mythos Negra - Dark Myths

Overview

MYTHOS NEGRA is a juried exhibition exploring dark mythology, folklore, and archetype. The gallery invites artists working in analog media to submit works that embody themes such as the femme fatale, tragic figures, or wrathful deities, and that confront the seductive, destructive, and terrifying forces embedded in mythic narratives.

Exhibition Theme

MYTHOS NEGRA explores the shadowed realms of myth, superstition, and folklore that emerge from humanity's deepest fears. This exhibition invites artists to examine dark archetypes, cautionary tales, supernatural forces, imagined terrors, personal myths, and ritual.

Eligibility

Open to professional and emerging artists. International applications welcome.

Media & Process

Eligible works include painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, collage, assemblage, textile, ceramics, photography (film-based or darkroom), and other physically produced processes. Digital artwork, digital manipulation, and AI-generated work will not be considered.

Submission Details

Provide high-resolution images (JPEG/PNG) and a brief artist statement regarding each work (150 words). Submit up to 20 images total, with a minimum of 1 image. All accepted works must be ready to install or hang.

Shipping & Delivery

Artists are responsible for shipping/delivery. The gallery is committed to keeping artist costs down and is willing to stretch canvas for large rolled works to reduce shipping expenses. Contact the gallerist for details.
