Your Time! at Dorland Mountain Arts

Overview

Dorland Mountain Arts invites visual, literary, and composing or performing artists to apply for residency stays in a secluded natural setting near Temecula Valley Wine Country, California. Individual cottages include WiFi, kitchen, bathroom, workspace, and covered porch with mountain and valley views.

Residency Length

• 1 week to 8 weeks, based on requests and availability
• Collaborators must apply and be accepted individually

Facilities & Equipment

• Private cottage with kitchen, bathroom, workspace, WiFi, window AC, and covered porch
• Community Arts Center with library, meeting room, and studio room
• Jane Culp Studio with work tables, Charles printing press, and cyanotype supplies
• Two cottages with baby grand pianos (Steinway and Kimball)
• Reflecting pond, small lake with rowboat, and hiking trails on grounds

Eligibility

• Open to artists at any stage of career
• Open to artists based anywhere in the world
• Spouses/partners allowed for full stay (non-collaborators)
• Pets not allowed

Housing & Amenities

• Private cottage on campus
• Access to private kitchen; no meals provided
• Partially accessible housing (50% or more)
• Washer and dryer available
• Residents granted leave during residency

Fees

• Application fee: $40 USD
• Residency fees: $450–$675 per week with discounts for residencies of four or more weeks

How to Apply

New residents must apply first before requesting dates. Candidates are reviewed in order of receipt. If approved, a contract and deposit request will be sent; return of deposit secures residency dates. Availability of dates changes constantly and often fills quickly.
