Overview
Fronteer Gallery seeks artwork inspired by any of the UK's National Parks for an exhibition celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Peak District National Park, the first of the UK's National Parks. Artists are free to interpret the theme in any way they like. Work can be in any medium except audio or video works.
Key dates

- Delivery deadline (by post): 13 August 2026
- Delivery in person: 4–13 August 2026 during gallery opening hours
- Private view: Saturday 22 August, 4–6 pm
- Exhibition: 25 August – 3 September 2026
Eligibility
UK based artists. Artists from all backgrounds are invited to submit one piece of work each. No disabled access to the upstairs gallery.
Media & size requirements
- Wall mounted work: no more than 70×70cm of wall space; framed or unframed with suitable hanging attachments.
- Sculptural work: no bigger than 50cm height × 30cm width × 30cm depth; must fit on a 30×30cm plinth.
- All work must be original and complete at submission; canvas prints are not accepted as substitutes.
- Submit up to 3 images: one showing the whole piece and two showing details if required.
Fees
- Free to submit.
- Successful artists pay £35 fee.
- Return postage available at artist's expense (£4 handling fee plus Tracked 48 postage cost; Parcelforce Express 48 for larger parcels).
What's included
In return for the £35 fee, successful artists receive an event evening with free drinks (welcome to bring friends and family), invigilation throughout the exhibition, and online promotion via social media posts. Work can be offered for sale with a 10% commission charge.
Collection
Work can be collected from the gallery on 8, 9, 10, 12, 16, 17, or 19 September during gallery opening hours, with additional dates available in late September and October. Alternatively, artists may arrange return postage.
About Fronteer
Fronteer is a husband and wife artist-led initiative operating a gallery in Orchard Square, Sheffield city centre with 2 exhibition spaces. The gallery typically receives over 300 visitors during a 3-week exhibition and 100+ at private view events. Promotion is shared across Instagram (@fronteer_art with 4,500+ followers and @fronteer_gallery with 5,500+ followers), Facebook, YouTube, and Threads.
