About
Submit up to 3 small artworks (30x30cm or less) in any medium except audio or video for a group exhibition.
Overview
Fronteer Gallery invites submissions of small artworks for the exhibition Small Works. There is no theme; the only requirement is that artwork is 30x30cm or less. Work can be in any medium except audio or video.
Size & format requirements
- Wall-mounted work: any size or shape, but should take up no more than 30cm x 30cm of wall space, including frames and mounts. Work can be framed or unframed. Work without hanging attachments should be suitable to be hung using Command Strips.
- 3-D and sculptural work: should fit on a 30x30cm plinth and should not exceed 35cm (height) x 30 x 30cm.
Eligibility
UK based artists from all backgrounds are invited to submit.
Submissions
Artists are invited to submit up to 3 pieces of work. Please complete a separate form for each submission. You may provide a short description of no more than 100 words, but this will not be displayed alongside the work. All work must be complete at the time of submission. Any work which varies from the original piece or size submitted may be rejected. Canvas prints cannot be substituted for original artwork; if submitting any form of print, you must print and prepare it yourself.
Fees & costs
- Free to apply.
- Successfully selected artists pay £22 per piece of work selected.
- If requesting work to be returned by post, a fee applies which includes a £4 handling fee and the cost of Tracked 48 postage.
Key dates
- Submission deadline: 31st July 2026.
- Successful artists notified by: 2nd August 2026.
- Delivery deadline (by post or in person): 13th August 2026.
- Opening event: Saturday 22nd August 4-6 pm.
- Exhibition dates: 25th August - 3rd September 2026.
- Collection dates: 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 16th, 17th, 19th September (more dates in late September and October).
What's included
In return for your fee, you will receive: a private view evening with free drinks (welcome to bring friends and family), invigilation throughout the exhibition, and promotion of the exhibition online through social media posts.
Sales & commission
Work can be offered for sale during the exhibition. There is a commission charge of 10%.
