About
Members of the Monotype Guild of New England are invited to submit up to two monotypes or monoprints for a hybrid exhibition at the Menino Arts Center in Boston.
Overview
Singular and Unique is a non-juried hybrid exhibition combining an online 3D virtual gallery and up to 60 works exhibited in person at the Menino Arts Center, home of the Hyde Park Arts Association.

Eligibility
- Must be a Monotype Guild of New England (MGNE) member in good standing
- All prints must be monotypes or monoprints
- Submitted work cannot have been shown at an earlier MGNE exhibit
- Work must be original and not infringe on others' copyright
What to submit
- Up to two monotypes or monoprints per artist
- 2-D or 3-dimensional work accepted
- Three-dimensional work and artist books displayed on pedestals
Media requirements – 2D artwork
- Maximum size for framed artwork: Height 40″ × Width 40″
- Must be framed and ready to hang with wire
- Wire and hanging hook must not extend above the top of the piece
- Screw eyes with wire placed at least within the top 1/8 of the frame (not 1/3)
- D-rings preferred; place on inside of stretcher if possible
- No sawtooth hangers
- Frames must be sturdy and in good hanging condition
- Glass and mats must be clean and free of fingerprints
- Improperly framed or wired work will be refused display or charged for rewiring
Media requirements – 3D artwork
Three-dimensional work and artist books will be displayed on pedestals. Contact the Exhibitions Committee at exhibitions@mgne.org to consult on installation restrictions and guidelines for unframed or large sculptural works.
Entry fee and process
- Entry fee: $35 per artist for up to two works
- Fees are non-refundable
- All submitted artists have one work included in the digital exhibition
- Exhibition team will curate which artwork from multiple submissions appears in person (max 60 works selected)
MGNE membership
MGNE is open to all artists working in the medium of one-of-a-kind prints with no jurying requirement. If membership expired over a year ago, contact members@mgne.org for renewal to avoid overage charges.
