Applications are invited for a three-week Creative Residency at Bloedel Reserve for artists and innovative thinkers working across any discipline.

The Creative Residency program at Bloedel Reserve fosters creative thinking inspired by nature and explores the connection between humans and the environment. Selected artists and innovative thinkers are provided a three-week stay on the Bloedel grounds, with unlimited access to the Reserve's 150 acres of sculpted gardens, forests, meadows, and wildlife habitats. Established in 2015, the program welcomes Creative Residents from a wide variety of disciplines.

  • Applications accepted: July 15 – September 1 annually
  • Submission deadline: September 1, 2026
  • Residency length: 3 weeks

Open to artists based anywhere in the world at any stage of career (emerging, mid-career, or established). Applicants must demonstrate a strong connection to nature through inspiration, material use, or research focus. Collaborative teams must apply and be accepted individually. Pets are not allowed.

Private housing on campus (individual apartment/cabin/house) with partially accessible facilities (50% or more). Residents have access to a private kitchen; no meals are provided. Piano studios are available. Housing is pet-free.
