Overview
AuSable Artisan Village presents the 2026 Great Northern Art Explosion, an annual international juried exhibition. Artists in all styles and mediums are welcome to apply. The exhibition will be held at AuSable Artisan Village Performing Arts Center in downtown Grayling.

- In-person drop-off: August 14–17, 2026, 10 am–5 pm

- Artwork pickup: September 6–13, 2026 during business hours
Eligibility
Open to all artists 18 years or older. All artwork must be original in concept and execution. Work must have been completed in the last two years and not previously shown in any Great Northern Art Explosion exhibit.
Media & size
Artists in all media are encouraged to apply: oils, acrylic, watercolor, photography, mixed media, ceramics, wood, metal, jewelry, sculpture, fabric, etc. Maximum size is 48 inches in width and 108 inches in height.
Submissions
One to three images may be submitted with each entry. Only 1 submission will be accepted per artist for the exhibition.

- Juror Awards: Grand Prize $2,500, Second Place $1,000, Third Place $500
- People's Choice Awards: Grand Prize $2,500, Second Place $1,000, Third Place $500
Shipping & delivery
Artists may ship work upon acceptance; the artist is responsible for all shipping costs and insurance. AuSable Artisan Village is not responsible for damage or loss in transit. Alternatively, artists may drop off artwork in person between 10 am and 5 pm, August 14–17, 2026. All artwork must be picked up by September 13, 2026, or the organizer may remove, store, or discard it.
